7 Ways to Store Your Colored Pencils | Colored Pencil Storage Ideas

Keeping your colored pencils can be a difficult task.

In the beginning, the box in which they came might suffice, but as you go on and buy extra pencils it starts to get very disorganized.

To get you started with organizing your colored pencils, I made a list of some great ways to store them.

So, let's get started with the first colored pencil storage idea.

1. Kitchenware Organizers

Kitchenware Organizers are great for storing your colored pencils. I've been using them for almost a year and really like them.

They are easy to stack, and they can hold a lot of pencils. And with lots of compartments, you can easily sort your colored pencils. They are also designed to maximize space in drawers, so you can store many colored pencils in a compact area.

Kitchenware organizers are a great and cost-effective way to organize your colored pencils and they are probably my favorite in this list.

2. Ouluhend Wooden Colored Pencil Holder

The Ouluhend Pencil Holder is a great way to store your colored pencils on your desk and have them ready whenever you need them.

With 11 color-coded slots to put your colored pencils in it is a great way to keep them organized.

3. AYVANBER Big Capacity Colored Pencil Case

If you love to take your colored pencils with you wherever you go then the AYVANBER Colored Pencil Case is for you.

With 304 slots you have space to store all the colored pencils you'll need to make awesome drawings and all that in a portable case that's also waterproof.

So, wherever you go, your colored pencils will be safe and organized in this colored pencil case.

4. US Art Supply Wooden Drawer for Colored Pencils

If you like your colored pencils to be stored neat and tidy, but within reach to be used, then the US Art Supply Wooden Drawer might be the solution for you.

This compact drawer fits perfectly on your desk and has lots of compartments to keep your colored pencils sorted to color.

5. Hexagonal Colored Pencil Holder

When researching storage ideas for colored pencils I came across this beautiful way of storing them on Pinterest.

This pencil holder is made of cut tubes of PVC pipes glued together in a hexagonal pattern, which is my favorite shape (is it weird to have a favorite shape?), with some wooden brackets.

It looks amazing, but when you start using your colored pencils and they get shorter and shorter they might be pushed back further into the tubes than you can reach. Maybe this is a problem or maybe just a minor inconvenience.

Either way, this is a stunning way to store your colored pencils!

I might actually give it a try one day and make one myself.

6. Loghot Marker Storage Organizer

The Loghot Storage Organizer is marketed as a marker storage rack, but you can also use this to store your colored pencils in a neat and organized way.

With the removable dividers, you can make the slots as big or as small as you want. Depending on the size, you can have 120 or 240 slots, which is plenty to store all your colored pencils.

But just as the previous idea, when your colored pencils get shorter as you use them, they might get pushed in too far and be a little difficult to get out.

Nonetheless, this is a great way to store your colored pencils.

7. Wooden Block with Holes

If you're more a person of DIY and simple, but effective solutions, then this might be something for you.

For this, you just need some blocks of wood and drill some holes in them that are just a little bigger than the diameter of your colored pencils.

And that's all there is to it, but it makes an easy colored pencil organizer and display piece.
