Ferrari 812 Competizione Aperta in Blu Tour de France - Colored Pencil Drawing
Photorealistic drawing made with alcohol markers and high-quality colored pencils on 200 gsm A3 (16.5 by 11.7 inches) sized paper.
The Competizione Aperta Looks Sooo Good from Behind
I was already a big fan of the Ferrari 812 Superfast. It looks so good and everything I do is to own that car one day.
But then Ferrari released the Competizione Aperta. Somehow they were able to make an even more beautiful car! I absolutely love the design of the Comp A, especially from the rear.
I don't say this often, but I actually like the roofless version more than the coupe.
Lots of Reflections
When drawing such a beautiful car as the 812 Competizione Aperta
I wanted the drawing to be just as special as the car itself. So naturally, I gave the car lots of beautiful urban reflections.
To make it even more special, I paired these beautiful reflections with a classic Ferrari color: Blue Tour de France.
One of My All Time Favorite Drawings
This drawing was one of the most challenging drawings I've made. It took a lot of work to get the color right, to draw the tiny details, and to draw every single reflection.
But it was absolutely worth it! I'm very happy with how realistic and detailed the Ferrari turned out!
Alcohol Markers & Colored Pencils
For this drawing, I decided to use mixed media to make this car really come to life. I drew the 812 on sturdy 200gsm paper.
I first used alcohol markers to color the base and I then used high-quality and fade-resistant colored pencils to color all the details and color nuances. Lastly, I used an acrylic paint marker to add a few very bright white highlights to make the car really pop.
